Stop! Don't throw away empty rolls from toilet paper or kitchen paper towels! You can build this stunning three-colored Icosidodecahedron or Dodecahedron models from the recycled paper rolls painted with metallic, acrylic paint. Check out other videos and shorts for more color combination ideas! #projectbasedlearning #modularorigami #imagination #imagination To build this model, I've used paper towel rolls flattened with a warm iron and then painted with metallic acrylic paint, gold, burgundy and aqua green for this model. To achieve a three-color effect I used masking tape. First, I painted the rolls with gold color (2 coats) and let it fully dry. Then I applied masking tape to the sides and the middle of a flattened roll and painted the unmasked parts, one with burgundy the other with aqua greeen paint. Let all paint fully dry. Flatten again if needed. I use non-stick parchement papar to protect paint when ironing the painted rolls. Cut the painted rolls into units at a 72° angle, the width of each piece equals 1/5 of the length. You need 30 pieces to assemble each model. Enjoy!
