Luke 4:18 R. Alleluia, alleluia. The Lord sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, and to proclaim liberty to captives. R. Alleluia, alleluia. Gospel: Luke 1:1-4; 4:14-21 Since, indeed, many have attempted to set in order a narrative of the things that have been completed among us, just as they have been handed on to those of us who from the beginning saw the same and were ministers of the word, so it seemed good to me also, having diligently followed everything from the beginning, to write to you, in an orderly manner, most excellent Theophilus, so that you might know the truthfulness of those words by which you have been instructed. And Jesus returned, in the power of the Spirit, into Galilee. And his fame spread throughout the entire region. And he taught in their synagogues, and he was magnified by everyone. And he went to Nazareth, where he had been raised. And he entered into the synagogue, according to his custom, on the Sabbath day. And he rose up to read. And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. And as he unrolled the book, he found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because of this, he has anointed me. He has sent me to evangelize the poor, to heal the contrite of heart, to preach forgiveness to captives and sight to the blind, to release the broken into forgiveness, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of retribution.” And when he had rolled up the book, he returned it to the minister, and he sat down. And the eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him. Then he began to say to them, “On this day, this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” == Sunday, January 26, 2025 - A moment with GOD through HIS WORD. Reflection: Has your excitement for the Gospel remained strong, or has it faded over time? How can you allow God’s Word to transform you anew each day? Prayer: Glorious Word of God, You have come to set us free by revealing to us Your love and mercy and by bestowing that grace upon us. Please open my mind and heart to Your holy Word so that I will be driven by a holy love to serve and follow You all the days of my life.
