Night of Ideas 2021 - Highlights

The third edition of The Night of Ideas (in French: La Nuit des Idées) in Nigeria, was placed under the theme "Close(r)". It took place at Alliance Française de Lagos - Mike Adenuga Centre on January 28, 2021. The event was divided into several salons, allowing the audience to wander through a variety of spaces, take part in conferences and workshops, and participate in cultural activities. Workshop #1: Empowering the population through community initiatives Featuring: ▸ Marvella ODILI, Founder/CEO of Save Our Needy ▸ Romain POIROT-LELLIG, Founder of Kwik Delivery ▸ Tunji AZEEZ, Professor of Theatre, Film and Cultural Studies Workshop #2: Developing easy tools to fight gender-based violence Featuring: ▸ Funmi ADENIPEKUN: Researcher at Stand to End Rape/STER ▸ Buky WILLIAMS: Founder of Education as a Vaccine (EVA) ▸ Dr. DASILVA: Founder of WARIF Dance performance: A Man's World A new choreographic and musical piece by the artist collective Ennovate Dance House addressing gender inequalities. Directed by Hermes Iyele Chibueze. Photography exhibition: Imaging Oworo A community photography project by the artist collective Oworo TV intended to re-imagine the Oworonshoki neighborhood in Lagos.
