France is facing its fifth night of rioting with police reinforcements sent into cities in a bid to control the unrest. Earlier in the day, emotional mourners paid tribute at the funeral of a 17-year-old who was shot dead by a police officer in France, sparking riots across the country. Groups of people have reportedly tried to loot shops on the Canebiere, one of Marseille’s main shopping streets, with 16 people arrested. French President Emmanuel Macron has postponed a state visit to Germany that was due to begin on Sunday because he wants to stay in the country while the protests continue. Nahel Merzouk, who was shot during a police traffic stop, was laid to rest on Saturday following an Islamic ceremony held in a mosque close to his home in the north-western Paris suburb of Nanterre.
