Digestive system l पाचन तंत्र l anatomy & physiology. #education #digestivesystem The digestive system is a complex series of organs and processes that work together to break down food and absorb nutrients necessary for the body to function. It includes: Mouth: Where digestion begins with chewing and the secretion of saliva, which contains enzymes that start breaking down carbohydrates. Esophagus: A muscular tube that transports chewed food (bolus) from the mouth to the stomach through peristalsis, a series of muscular contractions. Stomach: A J-shaped organ where food mixes with gastric juices containing acids and enzymes that continue the breakdown of food into a semi-liquid substance called chyme. Small Intestine: Composed of three parts - the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum - where the majority of digestion and nutrient absorption occurs. Enzymes from the pancreas and bile from the liver aid in breaking down food further. Liver: Produces bile, which helps digest fats, and performs many other vital functions including detoxification and storage of nutrients. Gallbladder: Stores and concentrates bile produced by the liver until it is needed in the small intestine to aid in digestion. Pancreas: Produces digestive enzymes and bicarbonate, which are released into the small intestine to further break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Large Intestine (Colon): Absorbs water and electrolytes from undigested food to form solid waste (feces). It also houses a large population of beneficial bacteria that aid in fermentation and produce vitamins. Rectum and Anus: Store and expel feces from the body through the process of defecation. The digestive system is crucial for converting food into energy and extracting nutrients essential for growth, repair, and maintenance of the body's tissues and organs. gastrointestinal physiology , physiology , gastrointestinal tract physiology mbbs 1st year , gastrointestinal tract physiology , physiology of gastrointestinal system , how to study physiology in mbbs 1st year , gastrointestinal , physiology of gastrointestinal tract , gastrointestinal physiology neet pg 2021 , how to study physiology in 20 days , how to study physiology in 10days,gastrointestinal system , digestive system physiology in hindi , git physiology git physiology important questions , human anatomy and physiology , digestive system anatomy and physiology , git physiology important topics for university , anatomy and physiology , introduction to git physiology , human anatomy and physiology important question , important questions of anatomy and physiology How to Digestive System work?
