Remembering one of the saddest days in history. 5th Day of Christmas; December 29th #shorts
I can’t say "Happy Fifth day of Christmas" this time because this day remembers the saddest part about the Christmas Story—the massacre of the dear little toddlers and infants. On this Fifth Day of Christmas we remember the young boys—the Holy Innocents—who were slain by Herod (Matthew 2: 16-18) when his plans were thwarted by the Magi not reporting back to him the location of the Christ Child (Matthew 2: 12). It is fitting that these little children—in a different way from St. Stephen—should actually be the first martyrs for Christ: God came to save all His children, and in King Herod's terrible act we are shown how voracious is the enemy of God's. Most would agree that to kill innocent little children has to be one of the worse crimes a human can commit: To God this is exactly what Satan has done to all His children. And this is why God sent His Son on Christmas Day.
