Youdester Chohan is a Pakistani politician affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. Born on September 20, 1977, in Rahim Yar Khan, he earned a Master's degree in Political Science from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur in 2010. In November 2021, he was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab, filling a seat reserved for non-Muslims following the passing of Mr. Peter Gill. Chohan's father, Surta Ram, also served as a member of the Punjab Assembly during the terms of 1977 and 1990-93. #YoudesterChohan #educationforall #RameshJaipal Throughout his career, Chohan has been involved in initiatives aimed at supporting minority communities in Punjab. For instance, in November 2021, he met with the Chief Minister to discuss the allocation of funds for the welfare of minorities and the implementation of a two percent education quota to enhance access to higher education for minority students. Last year during the Meghwansh Samaj conference in Rahim Yar Khan Youdester Chohan said that It is an honor to stand before you today and speak on a topic that has shaped leaders, movements, and nations—Knowledge is Power. Throughout history, knowledge has been the key to progress, justice, and empowerment. It is not just about information; it is about wisdom, awareness, and the ability to make informed decisions. As political workers, our role is to serve the people, advocate for their rights, and work for a just society. But how can we do this without knowledge? A well-informed political worker understands the needs of the people, the laws that govern them, and the strategies needed to bring change. Without knowledge, leadership becomes blind, and movements lose direction. I want to highlight the example of Ramesh Jaipal, a true star of the community, who has demonstrated how knowledge can uplift not just individuals but entire communities. His dedication to education, human rights, and justice proves that knowledge gives us the strength to challenge oppression and fight for equality. In our journey as political workers, we must always strive to learn—about history, governance, and the challenges our people face. Knowledge empowers us to debate, negotiate, and lead with confidence. It is the strongest tool against ignorance and injustice. Let us commit today to continuously seek knowledge and use it for the betterment of our nation. Because, indeed, Knowledge is Power! Thank you.
