In this emotional podcast, Scott and Liz Brown discuss their experience coping with the death of their partner and friend, Officer Danny Oliver. Scott explains his struggle surviving the shooting as an officer. Despite the grief and heartache, Scott and Liz discuss how they've been able to maintain a strong relationship and continue on with their lives. This honest and open podcast is a must-listen for anyone struggling to understand or deal with the death of a loved one. On October 24, 2014, Scott was involved in a several-hour and highly publicized shooting that claimed the life of their friend and partner, Danny Oliver, and several hours later, Detective Michael Davis. That incident proves to be a pivotal moment for Scott and his wife, Liz. They have spent the last several years healing and helping others, and it hasn’t been easy. The Greater Sacramento law enforcement community has been through tragedy after tragedy, and the Browns have been there for others. Liz is usually organizing events to encourage and serve those affected by each incident, the largest being the Blue Line Christmas Relief Event for the over 150 law enforcement families who lost their homes in the Camp Fire. She was awarded a Chief’s Commendation for her incredible work. Liz and Scott are now speaking about their story and what they’ve learned, both apart and together. Concerns for Police Survivors has e been instrumental in their healing, and they are now speaking for the organization. They wrote the book "Facing Evil". “A Gripping True Story!” This is the summary of the book. On October 24th, 2014, evil came to Sacramento, California with methamphetamine in his veins, and whispers of murder in his thoughts. He and his wife engaged in a several-hour Bonnie and Clyde-like crime spree, killing two deputies and wounding a third deputy and a civilian. More victims and witnesses were terrorized as a several-hour manhunt ensued, locking down schools and neighborhoods. The effects of chaos reverberated throughout the region until the couple was taken into custody. But it was only the beginning of a long journey through loss, grief, post-traumatic stress, and a painful trial. For years afterward, this evil spread to torment the souls of many more officers, claiming marriages, careers, and peace of mind. This is the true story of Sacramento Sheriff Deputy Scott Brown, the first to face this evil and survive.
