Many countries around the world celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day in some form or another. In Philadelphia, the tradition of making Irish Potato candy goes back for decades. This little treat pays homage to the city’s rich Irish heritage and strong Irish-based culture. As an immigrant from Philadelphia living in Sydney, I’ve begun feeling a bit homesick, so I decided to make myself this little treat as a reminder of home. These candies are really simple to make and most of the ingredients can be found in grocery stores globally!
