How AI will impact the practice of medicine - Bradley J. Erickson, M.D., PH.D.
We are pleased to welcome Bradley J. Erickson, M.D., PH.D. Dr. Erickson is a professor of radiology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, Minnesota. His research is focused on the extraction of information from medical images using computer technologies for diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic purposes. His research includes the development and potency of algorithms that can detect progression, regression or risk of disease. Dr. Bradley Erickson received his MD title at the Mayo Medical School and he holds a PhD from Biophysics, the Biomedical Imaging Track. His area of focus mostly involves quantitative imaging, computer-aided diagnosis and polycystic kidney disease. He’s received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the Carman Award for “Outstanding Research in Department of Radiology” and an Editor’s Recognition Award granted by the Radiological Society of North America. Dr. Erickson’s main objective in his research is to improve the radiologists’ ability to extract and understand the information they receive, in order to make imaging more reliable, consistent, and efficient. The lecture with the topic - How AI will impact the practice of medicine - will be mainly directed towards the understanding and use of artificial intelligence in medicine and the potential impact it can have on the future practice of medicine as well as on the physicians. The lecture will be held in English and will be recorded. This lecture is funded by the Department of International and Public Relations of the 3rd FM.
