Announced at PAX 2012, it released in May 25, 2013, via Steam, Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Unlike its predecessor, Call of Juarez: The Cartel, it will again be set in an Old West setting and will feature three unique game modes (story, arcade and duel) while the setting will be the life story of a bounty hunter called Silas Greaves. It will feature an XP and upgrade system, most likely similar to that of the Dead Island franchise. Also, things like Concentration Mode and other older gameplay mechanics will be returning and can be upgraded. New gameplay mechanic to dodge lethal bullet, known as Sense of Death, will be presented. The game will also feature Arcade Mode where the player can try to get the highest score possible on a previously completed level. Duel Mode is also included.
