Types of Urticaria Depending on the Cause

Types of Urticaria relating to possible causes One way you can classify Urticaria is by the cause for the skin condition. Urticaria, or popularly known as hives, is displayed by pale red, itchy bumps. The skin rash from urticaria causes burning and stinging sensation on the skin. The most common cause for urticaria is allergic reaction, but there are many other causes as well. The condition can last up to six weeks. If the hives last longer, they are considered chronic urticaria and the cause is not allergic. Let’s break down the most common causes. Drugs An allergic reaction to drugs is common cause for urticaria. Some of the medicaments that can cause allergic reaction include aspirin, penicillin, ibuprofen, sulfonamides, trichazole, anticonvulsants, and antidiabetic drugs. Food Food is one of the most common causes for allergy that results in urticaria. As for food types, most allergies are triggered by nuts and shellfish. Children, on the other hand, can also develop allergic reactions from eggs, soy and wheat. Dermatographic urticaria This condition occurs due to human behaviour. Dermatographic urticaria is displayed by welts on the skin and they appear as a result of stroking and scratching the skin. Dermatographic urticaria is probably the most common type of urticaria as it is present in 5% of world population. The reaction is visible very soon after the scratching, and can disappear within 30 minutes. Pressure urticaria Pressure on the skin is another factor that can contribute to skin rashes, hives, or urticaria. And in this case, the results are evident right after the pressure stimulus on the skin. It can also occur as deferred response to the pressure on the skin. In the second case, rashes appear within six hours of the pressure. Stress or  In this case, the cause for urticaria is physical and is provoked from sweating during exercise, being in heated environment, bathing or from emotional stress. Cholinergic urticaria results with smaller hivers and their lifespan is usually shorter than normal and standard urticaria. Cold induced urticaria While exposure to sun can cause the skin to burn and inflame, exposure to extreme cold, as well as windy and damp condition causes hives. The rashes are evident on the skin after 9 or 18 hours to the cold exposure. The most common spot on the skin for this type of urticaria is the face, the neck and the hands. Solar urticaria Exposure to sun is also critical, and if the skin is exposed to the sun longer than normal, the patient might develop hives within just several minutes after the exposure. The good news is that once the individual is away from the sun, the spots on the skin weaken after few hours.     All Urticaria related articles on Genius Circle IS CHRONIC URTICARIA THE SAME AS CHRONIC IDIOPATHIC URTICARIA?http://4-u.co/pazh IS THERE A WAY TO TREAT CHRONIC IDIOPATHIC URTICARIA NATURALLY?http://4-u.co/pazh CIU – WHAT CAUSES CHRONIC URTICARIA?http://4-u.co/pazh WHAT IS CHRONIC URTICARIA?http://4-u.co/pazh DETOXIFY TO BEAT CHRONIC URTICARIA http://4-u.co/pazh LOW HISTAMINE DIET MAY HELP GET RID OF CHRONIC URTICARIAhttp://4-u.co/pazh     Photo by woofiegrrl Photo by woofiegrrl
