Cleaning the power switch in a Game Boy Micro (OXY-001)

Does your Game Boy Micro display the low battery warning intermittently? Is your battery life lackluster, especially after installing a new battery? Does touching the power switch (without actuating it) trigger the low battery warning? It's probably a dirty power switch. This issue happens with every model Game Boy due to the design of the power switch. Take a look at one of my older videos for a more extreme example of this behavior:    • How I fixed my SP with flickering pow...   or this video from BennVenn on the abridged process of cleaning a power switch:    • GBA power switch teardown, clean, reb...   You'll have to take my word that this Micro was acting up since this intermittent problem, of course, did not rear its ugly head for the video. Nonetheless, after performing the cleaning, I'm confident that not only was this the source of my issues, but cleaning the switch was the solution as well. While you have your Micro apart, you should take the opportunity to clean it. You can (and should) clean everything but the motherboard (and speaker) in warm water with dish soap. Just make sure it's dry when you reassemble. IPA or window cleaner is acceptable for spot treatment but warm water and soap will work A LOT better.
