Chula Vista Presbyterian Church December 11, 2022 Welcome to Worship this morning! *Those who are able, please stand. Welcome & Announcements Prelude Gathering with Joyful Hearts Lighting the Advent Candle Leader: Together with Christians from every corner of the world, we anticipate the coming of the Savior. We mark the time with these Advent candles, symbols of our faith and signs of God’s love. The night is far gone, and weeping with it. Joy comes with the dawn of the Lord’s presence. People: We light the third candle for Joy (please stand for our call to worship) *Call to Worship Leader: Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, Rejoice! People: The Lord is near, salvation is at hand. Leader: We sing carols and remember promised of old, kept for all people. God himself will be with us. People: Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised. Hallelujah, amen! *Hymn # Prayer of Confession (please be seated) Friends as we come to meet the Lord, let us confess our shortcoming to the Holy One who covers us with grace: All: Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength, nor our neighbors as ourselves. Forgive us and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways. Hear us now, as we silently confess to you from the quiet of our souls…(pause for personal silent prayer)... In Jesus’ Name, Amen. Assurance of Pardon Leader: The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. All: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. *Gloria Patri: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen. Leader: May the peace of the Lord be with you. People: And also with you!
