The Venice Film Festival, which kicked off on August 28, showcased more than 20 films, including "Maria," starring Angelina Jolie. Costner's "Horizon" trilogy has been in the works for decades, with the third installment currently filming and a fourth in development. Costner personally financed the films, investing $38 million and taking out a loan against his Santa Barbara home to bring the project to life. Despite mixed reviews and a low 38% score on Rotten Tomatoes, Costner remains optimistic about the trilogy, which spans a 15-year period of pre-and post-Civil War American West expansion. "Horizon" features an ensemble cast, including Giovanni Ribisi, Luke Wilson, and Danny Huston.
