Red Cross set to push for regular inter-Korean family reunions / YTN

South Korea's Red Cross has announced that it will actively take steps to materialize regular inter-Korean family reunions and provide more humanitarian aid to North Korea. The Korea National Red Cross (KNRC) said on Thursday that to mark its 110th anniversary, it will propose to its North Korean counterpart that both sides lay groundwork for regular reunions of families living separated by the 1950-53 Korean War. For that goal, a survey to locate living North Korean relatives of about 68,000 war-separated family members in the South will be conducted. The KNRC added that a letter exchange program between them is also planned. The KNRC also said it is ready to directly support the poor as well as children in North Korea, by securing a wide range of relief supplies such as powdered milk and medicine.
