Quick Guide | Enable Ray Tracing in Minecraft Bedrock Through Options.txt

This guide is intended to help you work around an issue with enabling ray tracing in Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.21.60+ Currently players are unable to activate ray tracing from the game's main menu settings, and it has to be done while in a world, which causes its own issues that will be go away after reloading the world. To make it simple, enable ray tracing through the options.txt file, relaunch the game, and join your worlds with a ray tracing resource pack such as Vanilla RTX already activated (preferably in Global Resources) • Options.txt path for Minecraft: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftpe\options.txt • Options.txt path for Minecraft Preview: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftWindowsBeta_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftpe\options.txt • Find "graphics_mode" and set it to 3, save and launch the game. • For future convenience, make sure ray tracing is enabled before you leave the world, otherwise you will have the same issue, and the world will be glossy the first time ray tracing is enabled after launching the game. Not a big problem though! Reloading the world fixes this and you can always enable ray tracing again through options.txt You can optionally skip everything above and use this batch script to automatically enable ray tracing before the game is launched: http://minecraftrtx.net/downloads/pdl...
