Tuna kimchi jjigae (tuna kimchi stew) 참치 김치찌개 It tastes like something a Korean grandma would make. 👵🏻 🌶Ingredients 1 can of tuna (150g) 400ml water 1 tbsp minced garlic 1/2 stalk of green onion 1/2 onion 1/4 head of kimchi 1/2 ladle of kimchi juice 1/3 block of tofu, diced 1/2 tbsp chili powder 1 tbsp anchovy fish sauce 2 tbsp tuna fish sauce 0.5 tbsp sugar 1 tsp Korean dashi powder (optional, for restaurant-style taste) 1 tbsp vinegar (to enhance the savory flavor, like kimchi boiled in broth) 👩🏻‍🍳Recipe 1. Dice half an onion into small cubes. 2. Slice half a stalk of green onion into small pieces. 3. Use scissors to chop 1/4 head of kimchi into small pieces. 4. Mince 1 tbsp of garlic. 5. Heat 2 tbsp of cooking oil in a stone pot (ddukbaegi). 6. Pour in the tuna oil (secret recipe). 7. Stir-fry the onion and green onion. 8. Add the garlic and continue stir-frying. 9. Stir-fry the onion and green onion. 10. Add the garlic and stir-fry. 11. Add 0.5 tbsp of sugar. 12. When the onion becomes translucent, add the kimchi and stir-fry. 13. Once the kimchi has softened, add 400ml of water. 14. Add 0.5 ladle of kimchi juice. 15. Add 0.5 tbsp of chili powder. 16. Add 2 tbsp of tuna fish sauce. 17. Add 1 tbsp of anchovy fish sauce. 18. Once it starts to boil, add the tuna. 19. Also add the tofu. 20. If you want to achieve a restaurant-style taste, add 1 tsp of dashi powder. (Optional) 21. Let it simmer for 15 minutes. 22.
