Reigning Queen Snapper Over The Gulf Of America | Slow Pitch Jigging Pulley Ridge

Three Days in the Deep – The Hunt for Giants Beneath the Gulf’s endless swells lies a world few will ever witness—where giants roam the depths. Aboard the American Patriot, we pushed the limits, battled the sea, and came back with stories that won’t soon fade. DAY 1 – First Contact with the Queen 👑 Sunrise over Pulley Ridge. We dropped in, and the action was instant—yelloweye snappers hitting fast, filling the box. But then, something bigger showed up. A deep flash of red. Rods doubled over. John and Will in the fight. Moments later, two huge queen snappers surfaced. The queens had arrived—but the deep had more in store. DAY 2 – The Storm & the Giant 🌊⚡ The Gulf never gives it up easy. As daylight broke, so did the storm—howling wind, towering waves, rain hitting sideways. Then, from 1,300 feet down, the real fight began. A slow, steady pull. No headshakes—just raw power. Johnny dug in, the rod bent deep, until finally, a monster golden tilefish surfaced. A trophy only earned through pain and patience. DAY 3 – The One That Almost Got Away 🐟 The final morning felt too quiet. A few hambone snappers, then yelloweyes—until everything changed. Line ripped from the reel. A battle erupted. The fish ran deep, nearly won. Then—snap. But the mates worked fast, splicing the line back in just in time. Moments later, a massive amber jack hit the deck. One last scamp grouper came up. Out of season. Back to the deep. The ocean had the final word. Dockside Reckoning – Who Took the Crown? We came back beat up but victorious. Biggest fish winners were crowned, and at the filet table, we reflected on a trip filled with battles, close calls, and the relentless pull of the deep. Some stories make it back to shore. Others are still out there, waiting for the next crew willing to take them on. Are you up for it?
