Psalm 131 - Lord, my heart is not proud..2
A JOURNEY OF SPIRITUAL ASCENT Day 17 – Psalm 131 - Lord, my heart is not proud; Today, Evening 06/05 – Evening 07/05/2025 (Gregorian calendar), also the 9th of Iyar 5785 (Biblical/Lunar calendar), is the 17th day of the Omer. We are journeying from Egypt to Sinai, from redemption to revelation, as instructed by the Torah: Leviticus 23:15–16 “You shall count seven full weeks… You shall count fifty days…” Deuteronomy 16:9–10 “You shall count seven weeks… Then you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God…” In Messiah Yeshua, we don’t merely count the days, we offer them, preparing our hearts for the outpouring of the Spirit and the renewal of the Word at Shavuot. HOW TO COUNT THE OMER EACH DAY: 1. Blessing (in English): “Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to count the Omer.” 2. Count Aloud: “Today is the 17th day of the Omer.” 3. Read Scripture: Psalm 131 – A Song of Ascents Let the Word lead you into stillness, humility, and hope. Psalm 131 – A Song of Ascents (New Living Translation) “Lord, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I don’t concern myself with matters too great or too awesome for me to grasp. Instead, I have calmed and quieted myself, like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother’s milk. Yes, like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, put your hope in the Lord— now and always.” Psalm 131:1–3 (NLT) REFLECTION Psalm 131 is a gentle invitation to humility and rest. In a world driven by ambition, noise, and striving, this song teaches us the power of quiet trust. David doesn’t try to grasp what belongs to God alone. Instead, he quiets his soul , like a weaned child, content to simply be near the One he trusts. It’s a picture of mature dependence, not demanding or anxious, but deeply at peace. Today, pause. Still your heart. Don’t chase what is beyond your reach. Trust the One who holds all things and let hope rise in the quiet. Join me each day as we climb these ancient steps toward the presence of God, hearts set on worship and renewal. #CountTheOmer #Day17 #Psalm131 #SongOfAscents #QuietSoul #HopeInTheLord #SpiritualAscent #OmerToShavuot #MessianicReflection #WorshipTheWord
