Fans React to the 2023 British Grand Prix
Formula 1 returned home for the British Grand Prix, and the record-breaking crowd in attendance was treated to two Brits on the podium in the form of Lando Norris in a resurgent McLaren and Lewis Hamilton for Mercedes. Max Verstappen dropped a place to Lando at the start but led from Lap 5 to the flag, despite a safety car caused by Kevin Magnussen's second mechanical failure in two days. Oscar Piastri lost out on an almost certain podium due to the unlucky timing of this safety car. This win marked Verstappen's sixth in a row and Red Bull's 11th in a row, tying McLaren's all-time record, with the opportunity to break this record next time out in Hungary.
