Naming and Thanksgiving of St. Peter's & St. Paul's Believers Eastern Church

The Archdiocese of Nagpur recently witnessed a moment of great joy with the Naming and Thanksgiving of the Chapel of the Holy Apostles St. Peter and St. Paul. His Holiness Moran Mor Dr. Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan presided over the solemn ceremony. His Eminence John Mor Irenaeus Episcopa, Archbishop of the Delhi and Chennai Archdioceses, and His Eminence Justin Mor Thomas Episcopa, Archbishop of the Nagpur and Dhaka Archdioceses, along with priests of the archdiocese, assisted in the service. This chapel holds a special place in the history of our Church. It was here, on 13 December 2002, that 120 members of the Executive Council of Believers Church gathered for deliberations. After three days of prayerful reflection, it was unanimously resolved that the Church would embrace episcopal governance, and that Rev. Dr. K. P. Yohannan would be consecrated and installed as the first Metropolitan of the Church. Truly, this ceremony was not only a thanksgiving for the past, but also a celebration of God’s faithful leading into the future.
