In November 1995, Bill Clinton visited the city of Derry on a mission to encourage the peace process in Northern Ireland. The former US president was instrumental in paving the way to a future peace deal in 1998, known as the Good Friday Agreement. The Good Friday Agreement was signed 25 years ago and ended the majority of fighting between nationalists and unionists in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK.
