73 criminals behind bars thanks to operational plans in Nicaragua
During the week of Monday, July 12, to Sunday, July 18, the National Police arrested a total of 73 criminals for dangerous crimes. These include cases of homicide, various forms of robbery, and drug trafficking; this is part of the results of the various operational plans implemented nationwide. The report was released this Monday, July 20, at the Faustino Ruiz police complex by Commissioner General Sergio Gutierrez, deputy chief of the Managua Police. Gutierrez explained that among the evidence seized from the detainees were a total of 31 firearms, 18 kilos of cocaine, 27 pounds of marijuana, $145,680, three motorcycles, and a boat. Among those arrested for homicide is Larry Miguel González Gómez, the perpetrator of the murder of Martha Lorena Angulo, committed on Monday, July 19, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., in the 19 de Julio neighborhood, District I, Managua department. Police seized the knife used to commit the crime. This individual also has a criminal record for robbery with intimidation. More criminals arrested Darwin José Rivas Gómez, the perpetrator of the murder of David Gerónimo Torrez Díaz, committed on Monday at 9:00 p.m., in the Las Lomas community, San Francisco Libre municipality, District VIII, Managua department. A total of 48 people were also arrested for robbery with intimidation in Districts I, III, IV, and VII in Managua department. Among them is Desler Antonio Vargas Suárez, whose two motorcycles were seized by police, along with 24 in the rest of the country's departments. A total of 12 drug suppliers in Managua and the surrounding departments, including Juan Pablo López Pilarte, in Mulukukú, were seized. Six pounds of marijuana was being transported in a black bag. Dollar Seizure Oscar Lorenzo Rodríguez Blandón and Melvin Antonio Vargas Fuentes were arrested for organized crime, money laundering, and asset laundering in the department of Río San Juan. Police seized $145,680 and a boat in which they were transporting the money. The perpetrators and evidence will be turned over to the competent authorities for prosecution.
