Weight loss (burning fat) can only occur when you are in a calorie deficit. If you consume more calories than you are burning over a given time period, you won’t lose weight, and in fact you will likely put on weight. It’s as simple as that. Fat burned from fasting is simply because there is likely to have been a calorie deficit created. However you can cancel out the fasting gains by eating more calories (when returning to eating) than was saved from any deficit gained from fasting. Click bait thumbnail deliberately inviting debate.
