
Week 38: What to Expect During Your Pregnancy + Gina's Pregnancy Journey!
Welcome to week 38 of pregnancy! This week, baby's about the size of a bowling pin or a winter watermelon (but will NOT be equivalent to birthing a watermelon!). Baby’s lungs and brain will continue to develop a bit more, but their vocal cords are now ready to come out screaming and cooing! Baby’s head is about the size of its abdomen now, and will continue to grow the longer they gestate (but don’t worry, they are meant to shape shift and fit through that birth canal!). For expectant mothers, Roxanne discusses an increase in discomfort of Braxton Hicks contractions and why, what is prodromal labor, and how to identify the real deal with contraction patterns. She also discusses how weather and barometric pressure can affect labor, what fundal height measurements are, medical reasons for induction, and the anxiety of waiting for Baby. Additionally, Gina shares about her pelvic floor preparation, her reasons for staying consistent with daily movement, the struggle behind not being able to plan while in this waiting period, and the peace she has found over releasing expectations her upcoming labor and birth experience.
