The ground path leads to the star coin, guarded by two Spikes. use the blocks they stand on to give you a boost to your first star coin. Star Coin 2 - After the first star coin, you will come to an are with a Spike on top of a geyser. Defeat him and jump from the top of the geyser to reveal a hidden block with a vine. Take the vine up to find your second star coin. Star Coin 3 - Towards the end of the level there will be a platform with a signpost of an arrow pointing up and to the right. To the left of the platform will be three sand geysers. Drop down to the left or right of the platform and go under to find a hidden pipe. Once inside grab the Mini Mushroom and run up the wall. Once outside, avoid the sand geysers and keep moving right to find your last star coin. Secret Exit After getting the last star coin, jump up and keep heading to the exit. You will come to a platform with a signpost pointing to the right. Keep running and run down the side of the platform. There is a hidden area at the bottom that leads to a pipe. Follow this new area right to the secret exit. Finding the Secret Exit will open a path to Layer-Cake Desert-A Piranha Plants on Ice.... Star Coins Star Coin 1 - As you begin to move through the level you will notice a prominent theme of this level are the Piranha Plants melting ice left and right, causing larger ice block to come crashing down. Near the start you will see a pipe in the ground in danger of being plugged up by a Piranha Plant. Beat the falling ice block to get in the pipe first to find the first Star Coin. Star Coin 2 - After passing a Green Circle you will come to several piranha plants surrounded by ice blocks. The one on the far left has a platform below one of the ice blocks. Wait until the ice is melted and the ice block falls on that platform to jump up, and then to the unmelted ice block on the right. From there you can jump through a pipe and into the next area. In this area there will be many Piranha Plants melting ice left and right. The Star Coin will be between two ice blocks, so wait for the Piranha Plants to melt the ice and then wall jump between them to grab the Star Coin. Star Coin 3 - After exiting the are with the last Star Coin, you will be able to start jumping between ice blocks that appear higher and higher in the air. Do not stop jumping between them and keep moving right. Move along far enough before they melt and a Star Coin will be located on top of one of them.
