[ Plot ] The plot of God of War III begins immediately after the events of God of War II. Kratos, having defeated the Colossus of Rhodes, finds himself on the back of the Titan Gaia, climbing Mount Olympus with the aim of killing Zeus and overthrowing the gods. Kratos is accompanied by the Titan Gaia, who promises to aid him in his quest for revenge. As they ascend the mountain, Kratos encounters various gods and mythical creatures that attempt to impede his progress. He battles foes such as Poseidon, Hades, Hermes, and Helios, among others, using his weapons and abilities to defeat them. Throughout the game, Kratos encounters several key characters, including Pandora, a young girl who holds the key to defeating the gods, and Hephaestus, the blacksmith god who assists Kratos in his journey. Kratos learns that Zeus is his father and that he must confront him to fulfill his revenge. As Kratos reaches the peak of Mount Olympus, he engages in a fierce battle with Zeus. However, before he can deliver the final blow, Zeus tricks Kratos into relinquishing his godly powers, rendering him mortal. Zeus beats Kratos mercilessly, leaving him for dead. In a twist of fate, Kratos survives and embarks on a journey through the Underworld, seeking the means to regain his powers and continue his quest for vengeance. He retrieves the Blade of Olympus and confronts Zeus once again, this time fully powered. Kratos defeats Zeus in an epic battle, leading to the destruction of Olympus itself. In the final moments of the game, Kratos ascends to the throne of the fallen gods as the new God of War. However, he realizes that his thirst for revenge has left him empty and consumed by guilt. As the game concludes, Kratos impales himself with the Blade of Olympus, releasing hope into the world and ending his reign as the God of War.
