Triple homicide person of interest arrested
BEAUMONT - A tip to Crimestoppers has led to the arrest of a man Beaumont Police call a person of interest in the murders of three men.Beaumont police, Jefferson County deputies and officers from the Marshals Service took 27-year-old Allen J. Hancock into custody at the Super 8 Motel off Interstate 10 near Highway 69 in Beaumont.Beaumont Police early Wednesday morning took into custody a second man they call a person of interest investigators want to question about a triple homicide. Hancock, 27, shortly before 2 a.m. at the Super 8 Motel off Highway 69 near I-10 in Beaumont. Officers had a warrant for his arrest on drug charges. He isn't charged in the homicides. Last week, J.W. Marshall, 32, another man police say they wanted to question about the homicides, surrendered at the Beaumont Police Department.He was booked into jail on an unrelated parole violation for an aggravated robbery. On Thursday, June 27 at about 9:30 p.m., several masked men in a dark SUV approached a group of men playing dominoes outside a home in the 1000 block of Prairie Street. The attackers had guns and shot five men. Officers responded to the scene and found three of the gunshot victims dead and two with serious injuries.
