Thaksheftho from the Funeral Service for Men
This is a thaksheftho from the fourth service of the Funeral Service of Men. I have included the Syriac as well as the Malayalam translation in this video. The English translation (by me) is: The voice that called Lazarus from inside the tomb; who was dead and decayed; by the command of his creator, will call and raise the dead from their tombs on that great day of resurrection. In the valley of Josaphat, the king will sit on the throne; and the generations will stand before him for the just judgement. O Lord, on that day I beseech your kindness, O God you are the raiser of the dead. To understand the context of the reference to nahlo d-Yushofot ; translated into English as Valley of Josaphat and into Malayalam as യോശാഫാത്തെന്ന-സാനുസ്ഥാനത്തില് read the Book of Joel 3:2 and 3:12 "I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Josaphat. And I will enter into judgment with them there."
