Quick and Simple Watercolor Landscape - Misty Winter Christmas Card
Hello, friends! I'm Poppa, and welcome to another relaxing painting session here on Poppa Paints. In this 23-minute video, I show you how to create an easy and beautiful winter landscape greeting card using watercolors and the wet-on-damp technique. I’ve named this piece "Misty Winter" because of the soft, misty look achieved by applying light blue washes on a dampened surface. This technique allows for a dreamy, serene effect in very little time, making it perfect for a quick yet stunning card! A lot of viewers say my painting style reminds them of the late, great Bob Ross—and I couldn’t be more honored. Like him, I strive to create a calming, encouraging atmosphere while sharing easy painting techniques. This painting is so simple to render, yet it has an elegance that can rival paintings that might take hours. "Misty Winter" is also card number 186 in my goal to paint 200 cards for a special cause. These cards will be part of an Art Auction held by St. John Lutheran Church in Ocala, Florida, on November 23, 2024, at 6:00 pm. All proceeds will support youth programs at the church, and they’re still accepting contributions from other artists who’d like to make a difference!
