Matthew 6:24 (KJV): "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Life Application Notes: (Matthew 6:24) Jesus says we can have only one master. In a materialistic society where many serve money, people often spend their lives accumulating wealth, only to leave it behind when they die. Often, their desire for money outweighs their commitment to God. As 1 Timothy 6:10 says, "The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." To determine who your true master is, reflect on which occupies more of your thoughts, time, and efforts—God or money? Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Life Application Notes: (Matthew 6:33) To "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness" means putting God first in everything—seeking His help, aligning your thoughts with His desires, and living by His character. When you do this, “all these things will be given to you as well.” What truly matters to you? People, objects, and goals can easily push God out of first place if you don't consciously choose to prioritize Him in every area of your life. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Life Application Notes: (Matthew 7:13-14) The gate that leads to eternal life, as described in John 10:7-9, is called “narrow.” There is only one way to live eternally with God, and only a few decide to walk that road. Believing in Jesus is the only way to heaven because He alone died for our sins and made us right before God. Living His way may not be popular, but it is true and right. Thank God there is one way!
