Chicken and Aloo Biryani

For Meat; 1 chicken (1 kg approximately ) 4 medium potatoes 1/2 cup dried plums 1 cup full fat Greek yogurt 2 tbsp salt 1 tbsp chilli powder 1/2 tbsp turmeric 3 tbsp homemade biryani masala(watch previous biryani masala video for recipes) 6-7 garlic cloves 3 inches ginger root 2 green chillies 4 large tomatoes 1/2 cup oil 1 medium onion Add 1/2 cup in a pot and heat up. Add sliced onion and fry until brown. Add tomatoes, crushed chillies, garlic & ginger. Cook until tomatoes are softened. Add salt, turmeric, chilli powder and biryani masala. Cook until oil separates. Add yogurt and cook for 3 minutes. Add dried plums, potatoes and chicken. Cook for 3-4 minutes on high heat. Add 1/2 litres of water and cook until almost thickened but still slightly thin consistency. For dum; Handful mint chopped Handful coriander chopped 1 lemon sliced 4-5 green chillies Layer on top. For Rice; 800 g Rice (washed and soaked) 1 tbsp salt (to taste) 3-4 pcs Star anise 1 cinnamon sticks 3-4 bay leaves Put big pot of water over high heat, when start boiling add all ingredients and once water is fully boiled add soaked rice and cook until 70 %done! Drain and layer on top of gravy. Pour food colour mixed with water and kewra water. Put on dum on very low flame for 25 -30 minutes. Mix and enjoy!
