This cataclysm would have come at the hands of someone even more powerful and unexpected: Yoda. It's revealed in the 2004 novelization "Star Wars: Yoda - Dark Rendezvous," now part of Legends, that Count Dooku lured Yoda into a secret meeting during the Clone Wars, where he hoped to turn the Jedi Master to the dark side. What happened next, however, was a horrific vision Dooku could not have imagined. Dooku believed that if Yoda turned to the dark side, he would be powerful enough to defeat Darth Sidious. Dooku hoped that a Dark Yoda would pave the way for him to usurp Sith rule from Palpatine. However, Yoda was not tempted by Dooku's offers. During their encounter, he opens up to the dark side. But only for a moment. Through a realistic vision, he shows Dooku the unimaginable terror that a Jedi Master as powerful as himself would unleash if he turned to the dark side. Yoda's 900 years of Jedi experience and knowledge would be used for evil on a scale never before conceived. The destructive power of a Sith Yoda would be so great that it could destroy the entire galaxy. Once Dooku saw the vision, he could not deny the threat a Darth Yoda would pose. Of course, Yoda does not turn to the dark side; however, it is always possible that someone like him could.
