First Reading – Joshua 5:9A, 10-12: Psalm 34:2-3, 4-5, 6-7: Second Reading – 2 Corinthians 5:17-21: Gospel – Luke 15:1-3, 11-32. ========================================================== #The_readings_for_the_4th_Sunday_of_Lent_Year_C, invite us to reflect deeply on God’s unfathomable mercy and the joy of reconciliation and returning home to God. In the first reading from The Book of Joshua, we witness a pivotal moment for the Israelites as they celebrate the Passover and eat from the produce of the Promised Land. God tells them, "Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you." This is a powerful image of renewal and restoration. It signifies the end of their time of wandering, a reminder that we too can experience renewal through returning to God, especially during this season of Lent. The Psalm echoes this theme, inviting us to “taste and see that the Lord is good.” In times of struggle, we must aspire to find our refuge in Him, knowing that He hears our cries and delivers us from our fears. In his letter to the Corinthians, St. Paul speaks to us of being a new creation in Christ. He tells us that through Jesus, we are reconciled to God—our past mistakes and failures do not define us.
