Paris taxi firm suspends use of Tesla after fatal accident killing one person
The off-duty taxi driver who lost control of his Tesla in Paris collided with two pedestrians and a van before coming to a halt. CCTV video footage from inside the Sarawan restaurant showed a black car moving along Avenue d'Ivry at speed. Seconds later, the diners turn their heads in the direction the vehicle was travelling. One woman puts a hand over her mouth, another clasps her hands to her chest. One person was killed and another 20 wounded in the accident, which occurred on Saturday night in Paris' 13th arrondissement on a street lined by bars, restaurants and shops. The accident involved an off-duty taxi driver taking his family to a restaurant. Tesla had informed the French government there was no immediate indication that a technical fault was to blame, government spokesman Gabriel Attal said. G7, Paris' largest taxi firm, has suspended the use of Tesla Model 3 after the fatal accident.
