FINAL RIDE! Dover SPF Elevator | Animal Sciences Building | Univ of Maryland | College Park, MD

This is my final ride on the Custom Impulse (traction) elevator at UMD's Animal Sciences Building. Two days after this video, the elevator was taken out of service and ELCON began the modernization process. I am very sad to see this one go, but it needed to happen. As you could hear in the video, this thing was running horribly. The tech told me that the thumping sound was the lose motor bearings moving/wobbling around. I got to see the machine room and new motor/controller. I also acquired the buttons and lanterns, thanks to the ELCON techs. The full COP is now on display at Dieselducy's ElevaTOURS Museum for everyone to see! As for the hydraulic Custom Impulse in the building, the tech told me there are no plans to mod it at this time.
