Indiana Democrats: We need an active governor
Indiana's governor has been mostly out of the state for three weeks. Gov. Mike Pence was tapped as Donald Trump's vice presidential running mate in July and he's since been busy campaigning nationwide. Democrats say it is evident the state will be without an active governor for months during the campaign. Meanwhile, the Republican's office says Pence keeps tabs on state matters, and is available when needed. Unlike other states, no one can become Indiana's acting governor while the sitting official is out of the state.
