Psalm 104:25 (BCP)   Confession Officiant: Let us humbly confess our sins unto Almighty God. People: Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against your holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and apart from your grace, there is no health in us.  O Lord, have mercy upon us. Spare all those who confess their faults. Restore all those who are penitent, according to your promises declared to all people in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may now live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to the glory of your holy Name. Amen. Officiant: Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen.   The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.   Invitatory & Psalms Officiant: O God, make speed to save us.  People: O Lord, make haste to help us.  Officiant & People: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:  as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.   Septuagesima Lord, you have been our refuge: From one generation to another.   Venite Psalm 95:1-7 Come, let us sing to the Lord; * let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving *  and raise a loud shout to him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, * and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the caverns of the earth, *  and the heights of the hills are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, * and his hands have molded the dry land. Come, let us bow down, and bend the knee, *  and kneel before the Lord our Maker. For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. *  Oh, that today you would hearken to his voice!   Psalm 5 Verba mea auribus 1 Give ear to my words, O Lord; * consider my meditation. 2 Hearken to my cry for help, my King and my God, * for I make my prayer to you. 3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; * early in the morning I make my appeal and watch for you. 4 For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, * and evil cannot dwell with you. 5 Braggarts cannot stand in your sight; * you hate all those who work wickedness. 6 You destroy those who speak lies; * the bloodthirsty and deceitful, O Lord, you abhor. 7 But as for me, through the greatness of your mercy I will go into your house; * I will bow down toward your holy temple in awe of you. 8 Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness, because of those who lie in wait for me; * make your way straight before me. 9 For there is no truth in their mouth; * there is destruction in their heart; 10 Their throat is an open grave; * they flatter with their tongue. 11 Declare them guilty, O God; * let them fall, because of their schemes. 12 Because of their many transgressions cast them out, * for they have rebelled against you. 13 But all who take refuge in you will be glad; * they will sing out their joy for ever. 14 You will shelter them, * so that those who love your Name may exult in you. 15 For you, O Lord, will bless the righteous; * you will defend them with your favor as with a shield.   Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:  as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.   The Lessons Genesis 8:6-22 English Standard Version At the end of forty days Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made and sent forth a raven. It went to and fro until the waters were dried up from the earth. Then he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters had subsided from the face of the ground. But the dove found no place to set her foot, and she returned to him to the ark, for the waters were still on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her and brought her into...
