STORYLINE: Scores of supporters of the Palestinian people marched on Tuesday across Santiago, Caracas, Rio de Janeiro and Bogota to demand an end to the war that Israel is waging over Hamas in the Gaza Strip, two years into the conflict. October 7 marks the second anniversary of the attack by Hamas on Israeli soil, which sparked one of the most devastating military campaigns since World War II, leaving tens of thousands of Palestinians dead, flattening vast areas of the blockaded territory and triggering a famine in parts. Venezuela's government organized a march in Caracas to support Palestinians. Groups of Venezuela's government supporters and ruling party leadership attended the rally. Waving Palestinian flags and chanting, protesters in Chile gathered outside La Moneda presidential palace and marched toward the University of Chile, urging the government to cut ties with Israel. At the end of the demonstration in Rio, some protesters burned flags of the United States and Israel.
