경제학자 친구와 함께한 산행에서 얻은 깨달음: 진정한 배움과 나눔의 의미 Lessons Learned from a Hike with My Economist Friend: The True Meaning of Learning and Sharing 오늘 가을비를 맞으며 친구와 함께 관악산을 올랐다. 평생 경제학을 연구해온 친구와 산길을 걸으며 여러 학문을 아우르는 미래지향적인 이야기를 나누었고, 산 정상의 절에서 따뜻한 식사도 함께 했다. 서로 모르는 분야를 안내하고 배움을 나누며 뜻깊은 시간을 보냈다. 하산 후 저녁 식사로 하루를 마무리하며, 우리는 교육자로서의 긍지와 자부심을 다시금 되새기고, 더 나은 미래 교육을 위해 함께 노력하기로 다짐했다. 오늘은 한국에서 많은 사람들에게 특별한 의미를 지닌 수학능력시험 날이었다. 작년엔 로스쿨 교수로 재직 중인 선배의 아들이, 올해는 유럽에서 법조인으로 일하는 선배의 자녀가 시험을 보기에, 더욱 마음을 담아 응원을 보냈다. 자녀의 앞길을 위해 애쓰고 기원하는 부모의 마음은 모두 비슷할 것이라 생각한다. 저 또한 진로진학 상담의 전문가로서 더 나은 상담을 진행하기 위해 다양한 경험을 쌓아왔다. 명문대와 비명문대의 차이를 면밀히 살펴보았고, 학생들이 적성과 꿈을 향해 올바른 방향으로 나아가도록 돕기 위해 많은 시간을 연구했다. 삶의 갈림길에서 흔들리는 청소년과 청년들에게 따뜻한 길잡이가 되는 것은 저에게 매우 큰 의미가 있다. 앞으로도 그들의 든든한 조력자로 함께 걸어가고 싶다. 이 작은 다짐들이 우리의 미래에 힘이 되기를 바라며, 오늘의 산행을 돌아본다. Today, I climbed Gwanaksan in the autumn rain with a friend. My friend, who has spent a lifetime studying economics, and I walked along the mountain trails, sharing forward-looking conversations that spanned multiple disciplines. We even enjoyed a warm meal together at the temple near the summit. It was a meaningful time of guiding each other through unfamiliar fields and exchanging insights. After we descended and wrapped up our day with dinner, we reaffirmed our pride as educators and made a commitment to support each other in striving for better education in the future. Today was also the day of the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) in Korea, a special day for many. Last year, the son of a senior professor at a law school took the test, and this year, the son of another senior, who works as a legal professional in Europe, sat for the exam. We sent our heartfelt encouragement, as we all hoped for the best outcome for their children. I believe that all parents share similar hopes and prayers for their children’s success. As a college and career guidance counselor, I have also dedicated myself to gaining diverse experiences to provide better counseling. I have studied the distinctions between prestigious and non-prestigious universities in detail, investing considerable time in researching how students can best pursue their talents and dreams. It means a great deal to me to be a supportive guide for young people and students facing crossroads in life. I hope to continue to be a steadfast partner on their journey. Reflecting on today’s climb, I hope that these small commitments add strength to the future we all aspire to build.
