After the killing of Geoge Floyd by Minneapolis police, protests have swelled across America, Canada and the world. People are speaking out about the dehumanization of Black, Brown and Indigenous peoples in criminal justice systems. Demands range from reforms to police and prison abolition. This timely virtual talk address issues of race and the criminal justice system in the USA, from a Humanist perspective. Our speaker, Corey Clay, has 14 years of experience studying and teaching classes about the criminal justice system in the USA. His work focuses on police violence, probation recidivism and the criminalization of cannabis. He identifies as a Humanist and is currently in the process of moving to Vancouver, BC.
