Holy Mass on 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time in Our Lady of Loretto & St Michael Musselburgh 11/10/20
A warm welcome to Mass in Our Lady of Loretto and St Michael Musselburgh Fr Hugh Purcell RIP In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell for ever and ever. I have to announce the very sad news that Fr Hugh Purcell died suddenly sometime on Monday or perhaps the early hours of Tuesday. I am deeply grieved by Hugh’s death as are many in the Archdiocese, the football world and the community of AA. It is not time to start telling the funny stories of Hugh (there were many) nor to rehears his struggles (there were many) but it is time to acknowledge his compassion and good heartedness, his earthy good humour and infectious laugh. He was my friend and at times co-conspirator for over 24 years. I, along with many others, shall miss him and we are diminished by his passing. If you are a parishioner watching on You Tube and are shielding could you let us know. You are very much part of our community and given the extended nature of the pandemic we do not wat to lose contact. Also, only those of you who are watching can tell us what we need to do to improve the service – given financial constraints it might not be possible, but we can still try. In fact no matter where you are regularly watch from you are now in some way part of our community of faith and so feel free also to get in touch. Should you wish go onto our Newsletter email lists. November remembrance: We would like you to send us the names of your deceased loved ones for our November Lists. While we will not be able to celebrate as we did last year nevertheless, we shall still pray for our dead and remember their lives with us. They are still part of our lives and we theirs. Let us pray that they too may enter into the Halls of Heaven and join the wedding banquet of the Lamb. ------------------------------------------------- http://musselburghcatholic.org/
