First Reading: Philemon 1: 7-20 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 146: 7, 8-9a, 9bc-10 Alleluia: John 15: 5 Gospel: Luke 17: 20-25 My brothers and sisters, the sacrificial love of Jesus is the central element in the Kingdom of God in today's Gospel, "The Kingdom of God is among you." Jesus rules this kingdom not by force or intimidation but by showering us with His mercy and love, drawing us into a life with Him like the branches of a vine. He does this in such a way that His very life flows through us out to others. As the season of Advent approaches, may we remain under the grace of God through the sacraments that we may bear much fruit for the good of those around us. As St. Mother Teresa said, "Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless." This is the 1663rd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Rouquel, a member of the CFC Board of Elders, and the International Coordinator of the CFC Servants of the Lord, as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
