The National Police dismantled the criminal group "El Puyón" – Nicaragua
At a press conference this Monday, the National Police issued their first report of the year on their fight against crime, arresting 84 individuals accused of committing dangerous crimes. Among those arrested are eight for homicide, one for femicide, 63 for robbery with intimidation (assaults), 12 drug suppliers, and a dismantled criminal group. Police officers seized 19 firearms, 145 pounds of marijuana, 87 plants, two vehicles, and a motorcycle from the inmates. Among the criminals is one individual arrested for the crime of femicide against Leydi Vanesa Robles López (RIP), an incident that occurred in the Hojachigual region, Villa Sandino municipality. "El Puyón" Falls The National Police also dismantled a criminal group known as "El Puyón," perpetrators of robbery with intimidation (assault) in the municipality of San Miguelito. The suspects were identified as Kevin Antoni Burgalin Torres, the leader of the gang; members include Miguel Ángel Chavarría, Ariel Antonio Chavarría, Carlos José Orozco Brenes, José Santos Carmona Duarte, Carlos Iván Hurtado, and Deylin Javier López. In León, Jairo Antonio López Figueroa was arrested for drug supply, seizing 51 pounds of marijuana and a car with license plate BO-7933. Similarly, in Bonanza, three individuals were arrested as drug suppliers, and 43 pounds of marijuana and a motorcycle with license plate RN 3152 were found on them. The offenders and evidence will be forwarded to the competent authorities for due process. The National Police continues to implement special plans such as enhanced surveillance and patrols in neighborhoods, markets, bus stops and terminals, parks, highways, tourist destinations, road safety, and rural safety. The National Police reiterates its commitment to continue working to strengthen the safety of individuals, families, and communities.
