This is the Commander of Yon 328 Siliwangi when the G30S PKI broke out
This is the Commander of Battalion 328 Siliwangi During the G30S/PKI Outbreak The 328th Battalion was one of the troops relied upon by the Army Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad) Commander, Major General Soeharto, when he first launched the operation to crush the G30S/PKI, along with the Army Special Forces Command (RPKAD), now known as Kopassus. At the time, the 328th Kujang Siliwangi Battalion was in Jakarta to participate in the ABRI (Indonesian Armed Forces) 20th Anniversary celebrations, which were to be celebrated on October 5, 1965. At that time, three battalions—the 328th Kujang Siliwangi Battalion, the 454th Banteng Raider Battalion of the Diponegoro Military Command, and the 530th Para Battalion of the Brawijaya Military Command—were brought to Jakarta to participate in the ABRI 20th Anniversary parade. During the G30S/PKI incident, part of the 454th Battalion was involved in the coup attempt. Likewise, the 530th battalion from Brawijaya. But the 530th Battalion troops were brought to their senses when their Deputy Commander visited the Army Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad) Commander, Major General Soeharto, for an explanation. The Deputy Commander of Battalion 530 came to Kostrad Headquarters along with the Deputy Commander of Battalion 454, Captain Koentjoro. Back to the story of the 328th Kujang Siliwangi Battalion. At that time, the Commander of the Siliwangi Division's combat troops was Major Ali Rachman. These Siliwangi troops also succeeded in capturing former Colonel Abdul Latief, the former Commander of the 1st Jaya Sakti Brigade, who was directly involved in the G30S/PKI incident. Latief was ambushed by Siliwangi children while hiding at his wife's sister-in-law's house in Pejompongan, Jakarta. Latief's arrest occurred on October 11, 1965. On the same date, former Lieutenant Colonel Untung Syamsuri, another leader of the G30S PKI, was also arrested in the border area between Tegal and Brebes.
