The 8th Webinar session was conducted by Mr Shankar Sharma (MBM 1988) on Impact of Covid on Equity and Debt market. Mr Shankar initiated the session with the brief how he and his team changed the Standard operating procedures while the Covid 19 started showing its first glimpse in India. Mr Shankar stated after Covid 19 3 certain things will definitely happen Concentrated Political Power, Concentrated financial power and concentrated corporate power. Mr Shankar also shared that NASDAQ has already recovered from the hit of COVID 19, several companies in US like Amazon, Netflix has already hit the highs and soon Chinese companies like Alibaba will also show the similar results. Mr Shankar explained COVID 19 has come in the worst time for India. When 2008 crisis happened, India’s GDP was growing at 10% till 2007 so corporate India survived 2008 crisis and came best by far in the world. Now India is already a struggling economy with 20-year low GDP growth. Mr Shankar believes there are only 2 steps to revive GDP of India: 1) Revive rural economy. 2) Save the financial sector of India. In the Q&A Session Mr Shankar advised investors to buy some quality stocks, Gold and diversify the investment outside India. As well as keep oneself away from any real estate investment. The session breached the 100 participants threshold and many couldn’t take the part.
