Passover - one of the first things they did after crossing the Jordan into the promised land Pesach (Passover) - marks the Exodus of the Children of Israel from Egyptian slavery, when God "passed over" the houses of the Israelites during the last of the ten plagues. HOSANNA - Deliver us/Save us! Provision - God transitioned them from the mana in the wilderness to understanding that every good and perfect gift, even harvest, comes from Him Shavuot (Weeks/Pentecost) - commemorates the anniversary of the giving of the Torah by God to the Children of Israel at Mount Sinai Holy Spirit came at Pentecost for the church and believers. Power and Authority - God reminded Joshua as leader that he was merely an subordinate to the will and direction of God Sukkot (Tabernacles) - dependence of the People of Israel on the will of God Harvest time is coming! Seven “Entries of Jesus in to Jerusalem: Presentation at the Temple (41 days old) Passover (12 years old, Joseph and Mary “lost” Jesus) Temptation by Satan (just prior to start of ministry, says,”the devil led him into Jerusalem”) Passover (cleansing of the temple, driving out the noise/crooks/obstacles) “Jewish feast?” (healing at the pool, likely Tabernacles) Festival of Booths/Tabernacles and while there the Feast of Dedication Triumphal Entry Palms in Scripture: Deuteronomy 34:3 CSB “the Negev, and the plain in the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar.” Psalm 92:12 CSB “The righteous thrive like a palm tree and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon.” Revelation 7:9- CSB A Multitude from the Great Tribulation 9 After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice: Salvation belongs to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb! 11 All the angels stood around the throne, and along with the elders and the four living creatures they fell facedown before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying, Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen. 13 Then one of the elders asked me, “Who are these people in white robes, and where did they come from?” 14 I said to him, “Sir,[a] you know.” Then he told me: These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve him day and night in his temple. The one seated on the throne will shelter[b] them: 16 They will no longer hunger; they will no longer thirst; the sun will no longer strike them, nor will any scorching heat. 17 For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne will shepherd them; he will guide them to springs of the waters of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
