A Shloka Offering to HG Pankajanghri Prabhu by a child of Mayapur on 81st Appearance Day Celebration
Shloka was offered at Sri Dham Mayapur on Mar 19, 2025 HG Jananivasa Prabhu and HG Pankajanghri Prabhu's 81st Appearance Day Celebration A Tribute to My Beloved Twin Gurus Today marks the 81st appearance day of my beloved twin gurus, Jananivas Prabhu and Pankajanghri Prabhu. For over 45 years, They have dedicated Their lives as the head Pujaris of Mayapur, serving Sri Sri Radha Madhava, Sri Sri Panchatattva, and Sri Sri Prahlada Nrsimhadeva with unwavering devotion. Leaving behind Their home and family, They embraced a life of complete surrender, setting the highest standard of deity worship within ISKCON. Growing up in Mayapur, I had the immense fortune of being in Their association every day—attending Mangala Arati with Them, chanting 16 rounds, participating in Darshan Arati, and accompanying Them during festivals. Everyone in Mayapur recognized me as the child who was always by Their side. At the time, I didn’t fully grasp the depth of what I was receiving from Them, but as the years pass, I realize more and more how much They have shaped my life. Formally, They have accepted me as a Pujari disciple, but beyond that, They have been my guiding lights in devotion and service. Their depth of bhava in deity worship is unparalleled—every offering made with pure love, every arati performed with complete absorption. Their character is spotless, embodying the highest ideals of naishtika brahmacharya. Always thinking of how to refine and enhance Radha Madhava’s service, They maintained impeccable personal standards—bathing thrice daily, performing Sandhya Vandana three times a day, and keeping Their lives centered solely on seva. From a time when They carried out all the deity services almost single-handedly to now, where They oversee and refine the intricate details, Their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Pankajanghri Prabhu left this world four years ago, leaving behind an unmatched legacy, and today, Jananivas Prabhu continues to uphold and refine the highest standards of deity worship in ISKCON. Their lives have been a testament to the sattva-guna principle of perfect maintenance, ensuring that Mayapur remains the gold standard for temple worship in our movement. What amazes me most is how They remained completely uninvolved in politics, dedicating every moment solely to the service of the Lord. Their purity is so rare that even Srila Prabhupada himself once said, “Those twins, Jananivas and Pankajanghri—there is no comparison. Their purity is unmatched.” On this auspicious day, I offer my heartfelt gratitude and dedication to my beloved Gurus—who have given me everything, including my very name, Mukunda Hari, bestowed upon me by Jananivas Prabhu Himself. They will always remain close to my heart, guiding me in life and puja.
