CATHOLIC MEDITATION: 22 November, 2024. ⛪📖🖊️ 🟩 FRIDAY 🟩 33RD WEEK - ORDINARY TIME, YEAR B. Memorial : St. Cecilia, (Virgin & Martyr). 1st R : Rev. 10:8-11. Resp. Psalm : Ps. 119. R/ - How sweet is your promise to my tongue, O Lord. Gosp. : Lk. 19:45-48. Message : AVOID DOING UNHOLY THINGS IN GOD'S HOLY HOUSE. Jesus rebukes the people and whips them out of the Temple because they desecrated it by doing things that were unholy in it. God is holy. He dwells in the Temple. Therefore, the Temple is holy. If we desecrate whatever is holy, we commit a sacrilege. By selling, cheating, and exploting the people with exorbitant bills, they turned God's house into a den of thieves. We, too, turn God's holy house of prayer into a den of thieves through the unholy things we do therein: we steal and are unaccountable with Church and group funds, we fight for positions in Church and even kill others forvthose positions, we eat, chew gum in Church, we WhatsApp in church, take photos and upload on status while Holy Mass is ongoing, EXCO members have hijacked the group and group funds, we use the Church as cover for our crooked dealings in society.
